![]() | Welcome | The Plan Our plan is to acquire two Yak-11 project aircrafts. The Yakovlev Yak-11 or "Moose" is a two seated fighter-trainer produced from 1947 until 1962 for the Soviet Air Force and other Soviet-influenced air forces. The Yak-11 design was based in large parts on the Yak-3 Second World War fighter. It became the Soviet Air Force's most widely used trainer aircraft and has sometimes been equated in importance with the American T-6 advanced trainer. Nearly 4000 aircrafts were built of this type. [ image disabled ] --- Because two Yak-11 project aircrafts are currently offered for sale in the US we want to acquire these for restoration. --- One will be a completely authentic restoration, featuring ASh-21 57О hp engine, Russian metric instruments and factory finish coloration. Six engines are included with the aircraft project so we will have plenty of spares available. [ image disabled ] The reason for this is to be able to show the public a real original old training aircraft other than the T-6 seen at every airfield. The Yak-11 could be placed next to a Yak-9 to show the similarities between the two and point out the purpose of this trainer. --- The other will be an "air racer" type conversion with Pratt & Whitney R-1830 1200 hp engine, English imperial instruments and creative coloration. The R-1830 is the same engine as used, for example, on the DC-3 and C-47. [ image disabled ] Advantage of this conversion is that the aircraft can be compared to the Yak-9, P-51, or other (dual controlled) fighter aircrafts. With its creative paint scheme it will be very attractive to the eye. Because it is not meant to look authentic it can be an excellent platform for sponsors. --- We will keep the aircraft in the dual control configuration so that it will be suited for instructional and training flights on a warbird type of aircraft, for both experienced and new pilots. It is also suited for air-to-air photographing and of course formation flying. Currently we are in the process of finding a party willing to help us acquire these project aircraft. If you can help us with this please contact us. | Ads by Google
